    Some of you may know who is selling this and if you do know that i asked before i posted this thread. So this is a 1927 buffalo nickel i really like it and the character it has but the lines on it make me think it may if been cleaned Thanks in advance for the help!! it is nice to be the asker and not the teller for a change :)

    Can't see a cleaning from the images but that means nothing.

    what do you think about the way the lines are on it almost like layering ???

    thanks for your opinion i know you know your stuff !!! Any chance you can explain to me what those lines are though ?? and what would you grade this coin ??

    Not sure, toning maybe. I have a one that has similar lines.

    I think it gives it character. It should not hurt the value, there are lots of people who like toning and or unique coins

    Value will be about the same. It might be worth more to some and less to others.

    They are of no concern in this respect. As for bring a premium, and as the others have mentioned, it could go either way. If you're hoping this example will bring a definite premium, this would be a mistake, but as with you, there will be those who find this attractive and/or interesting. It is possible that someone may be willing to pay slightly up for such a coin, but you would need to connect at the right time with the right person, which could mean much effort for little reward. However, if you're wishing to buy it as a personal collectible, this choice is yours.

    if i had the money id pay the premium its pretty cool.

    a woody is a improper mixed alloy which i was refering to .

    i will most likely keep the coin so no worries about finding the person !! just another unique piece to add to the collection!!

    Doesn't look cleaned to me and I was thinking improper alloy too. I like it.
