1839 Philly mintage of 1,069,150. The Type II obverse which is the same hub for Miss Liberty as used on the 1837 Type I No Stars variety but with the addition of 13 peripheral stars. All 1839s are of the No Drapery type. Type I reverse.

Your coin is the V-2 die marriage with the repunched date and Stars 5, 6 and 8 repunched. Rarity is about an R-2 in all grades.

I estimate your coin is a F-15. Looks like pretty original skins to me.

Yes, what really stood out for me was the original condition. Mbarrcoins was the seller. Usually their old coins have old problems. This one really stood out. I couldn't quit looking at it. And now it is on its way!

 

Found me another crusty coin! I wish the seller would have added truview...

Here are my new treasures! An 1878 CC Morgan graded MS60. Always love a Carson City Morgan! And a 1926-S SLQ in MS61. The 26-S isn't particularly hard to find in lower grades, but is very scarce in mint state, so I'm very pleased to have her in my top set. I "bundled" these two for a better deal (in terminology I learned from American Pickers) - do you also try to negotiate a better price by buying multiple coins? Seems to work a lot of the time. Plus more coins that way!

Neat! What are the dates? I have a coin bracelet that was apparently made during the Great White Fleet sailing (a group of United States Navy battleships which completed a journey around the globe from December 16, 1907 to February 22, 1909 by order of President Theodore Roosevelt to showcase US naval power). It was then common for sailors and travelers in general to pick up a local coin at ports of call and have them put on a bracelet as a memento of their travels. I wonder if yours isn't something similar.

 

Seller claimed it was made during WW2 which most likely is correct.Four out of the 7 are dated between 1938-1945 and the other 3 are just a few years before.

 

Still a few deals to be found out in the wilds of the interwebs. Of course this one appears to have been cleaned at one point but couldn't pass it up for the $.

 

This 1884-O Morgan has a nice reverse die clash (top of right wreath). I didn't even know it was there until after I bought it. Lots of die cracks on the reverse too.

A couple more arrived today.

 

I just picked up this token. It's a F-188/435e Civil War token. Graded as MS-61 and is R-8.

Over the last couple of years, I have been building small suites of Conder tokens, "Withers" tokens, Hard Times tokens, Civil War patriotic and store card tokens, Fractional currency, and California period 1 gold coins.

I have also been working on a beehive topical collection. So this little sweetie fits right in with my collecting goals.
