10oz Gold Bar Pile

Just couldn't help but share this -- I only wish that I had been here for the original pile!

I don't work on Fridays because I work on Saturday, but apparently on Friday afternoon a gentleman came in and sold us 40 10oz gold bars. By the time I got to work on Saturday morning, 11 were left. As of right now, only 4 are left. What I wouldn't've given to have grabbed pics of the 40 together!

Anyway, I just thought this was cool and had to share!

40 bars x 10 oz. = 400 oz. 400 oz. x $1,329.2 =$531,680 in gold! nice!

 

40 x 10oz = 400oz = you need to add an extra digit to your number.

 

That's a lot. I know you weren't there, but did the guy just walk in with a bag? I would imagine he wasn't carrying it on him and took you guys to it after negotiating. Also, what do you guys do to authentic it? Especially being packaged.

 

What's equally amazing is that they've sold almost all of it in one day. Amanda's shop is banking that moola!

 

I would hope someone at least authenticated the unique serial code that is on the back of each packaged bar. That is a _lot_ of gold...

i'd rather have $500k in gold than $500k in paper dollars though!

 

As far as authenticating, normal procedure ... check the weight, examine how it's made, check the serial number.

I wasn't there, I don't know anything about the guy or things he may have requested, and we're closed for the day -- I'm on my way home! I could ask on Monday.

dude totally robbed me of my 40 gold bars and sold them to varners shop....

 

At least you can take solace in them being fake

 

yeah but my insurance claim for $525k worked out great
