    Yo!

So today I found myself at the bank teller's window emptying my pockets of a bit of change to add to a few bucks that I was "giving" to my new bank!

Never, I mean NEVER in my life have I seen (that's how new I am to this sport) a "Proof" Jefferson Nickel! However a ray of brightness hit my eye as I dropped the small amount of change onto the counter....there it was! A 1985 S Jefferson Proof 5cent piece! I haven't even researched to find out if it's worth anything more than a nickel, but I sure am impressed with the fact that it spent the last 29 of it's "Proof" life in such a nice, shiny state of being!

How did that happen? I don't know, but it's fun to imagine. If you know of it's value, if any, shoot me a word, yeah?

A picture is worth a thousand words, see below!

I had time yesterday during the snows to go through another box of cents:

    12 Wheats: 44 (x2), 46, 47, 50, 52-D, 55 (x2), 57-D (x2), 58, 58-D, + 59, 59-D (x2) to round out the pre-60 coinage

    3 Canadian: 63, 84, 2010

530 copper cents to add to the stack.

Loomis brought 2 extra boxes of cents and shorted me a box of nickels. What did I get???

10 boxes of solid 2013-P cents
3 boxes of solid 2013-P nickels

Guess I have a lot of unwrapping and dumping to do this weekend. Ugh.

2 more boxes of halves today.
    Box #1 - contained 1 1964 on the end of a roll. Also found a 2012 NIFC.
    Box #2 - 1 1964 Kennedy, 1 1954 Benjamin, & 4 - 40%s, one of which was an almost mirror finish 1968 S. I've only found 1 other 40% S which was a 1969. This box had a 2013 NIFC.

Looks like people are turning in those coin jars from the back of the closet. The silver gods are smiling.

Ouch. I've gotten a few solid rolls, but never a solid box. *knock on wood* I guess that's one of the unfortunate risks of our game.

Went thru about $100 worth of customer rolled halves...totally skunked. Although I did manage to spot a 71' that looks like it was stamped several times though? Not sure if its even worth anything.

Yeah so far this year I have gotten 10 boxes of 2013P cents and 6 boxes of 2013P nickels. It has been a pretty rough start to the year.

I got about 10 smokey mountain's today and a few great basin and perry's victory. I just want 1 P&D Mt. Rushmore to add to my folder. I don't feel like that is asking too much :)

well, cant manage to get a mt. rushmore, but i did get a 1962-D and 1964-D out of the quarter machine at the arcade, so i can't complain too much (took $80 worth of quarters to get those 2 , thats when i ran out of $1/$5/$10/$20 bills)

Finished that $21 worth of cents. A measely 5 wheats and 4 canadians. One of the wheats was a nice red 56P but that didn't make up for the crappy rest of the rolls.

Nice find with 3 buffs! I've only run across one of them "in the wild" since I started searching nickels.

Thanks! That is my 2nd best buff find. The best was last summer with 4 in $50. How many nickels have you searched? I have gone through $9,740 ($12,400 if you count all the solid date rolls) and have found 36(1 in $270 searched). So far I have pulled 8 this year.

Didn't have any rolls but went through about a months worth of pocket change my wife had and found Roosevelt Dimes with die clashes on the reverse. They weren't very strong but very visible and that made three since Wednesday the first day I started looking for coins with clashed dies. I am going to have to get me a scope that hooks up to the computer so I can see better and take pictures anybody have any suggestions what I should get without breaking the bank?

Yesterday, went into a store and got a new quarter in change. I asked the clerk in the store, if they had a roll of them. Sure. I got the roll of quarters. Got home to check them out. I thought they were 2014, no date showing. Well, they were 2010 Mount
Hood park quarters, half were "D" and the other half were "P". It's been very hard, in the last few years, to find a roll of the park quarters in change. The banks here, do not get them, and cannot order them. I do not like to order them from the mint. The some banks, will special order the a box of half dollars, if they know you. Most of the new coins , I get some from large stores, but some of the stores will not, give out rolls of them.
