how much are the half dollars that weren't put into circulation worth? I know ive found a few roll hunting

  6. Unless they are silver or high grade, they are likely just worth 50 cents.

Yup, TC is right. They still made a couple million each year.

I guess I need to pay closer attention to my acronyms. What does NIFC mean??

only way general public could get them was from mint sets, rolls an bags.. NIFC..

I've just never seen that acronym used before. Apparently neither has Google..

I take that back. I found a reference at the bottom of page 4.

    "2002-2004, 2006-date"

2005 was only a little bit more mintage than the years you listed...did they release 2005 for circulation?

2001 was the last year that the Feds released Kennedy half dollars.

2005 and 2013 were also NIFC years, but there was a high enough mintage that they are common in circulation and not worth more than 50c. depending on condition and date, NIFC halves are usually worth 75c-$2. 1987 is worth around $5, 1970-D is worth $10-$30. also keep an eye out for any proofs with an 'S' mintmark

'01 p were made for circulation, but very few have been released that werent sold in mint sets, bags or rolls. most '01-D s werent released until 2004-2005.
