Not sure but something about it is setting off my counterfeit senses. The weight is way lighter that would account for in the amount of wear. The rim looks really off like it was part of a braided bezel.
I have been going thru some old coins and had never noticed it before. And wouldn't have if I didn't find another 52. It seems the reverse looks a bit different also from this one.
Looks like a counterfeit struck on a foreign planchet - I recognize that edge, but for the life of me can't remember specifically where from. Maybe a Canadian penny token? An interesting piece.
Thanks, I originally thought it might be a snuff type coin. "Two pieces" thats why I weighed it. But it's too heavy to be hollow in the middle. If you remember where you have seen that roped edge let me know. I am stumped.
@Jack D. Young I know these are difficult to nail down variety's. But do you see anything that says counterfiet?
The top one is a fake. It's the lips. A lot of Chinese fakes have these weird lips. Her nose too. The date.
