Hey friends, I haven't been around much lately. I've been down with the flu and we've been hit by a few storms. Lost power for three days, kids home from school a lot. Coining has not been at the top of my list recently. On the bright side, we did get a new vehicle - nice big gas hog to carry the six of us around. Take that Al Gore. Anyway, I should probably make this thread coin-related, so here's a coin I could have bought with the money I spent on the presidential motorcade tank. I wonder if the Romans had any idea their coins would be worth so much, so long after their demise.
John Anthony? It seems like I remember that name from a distant past. Glad you're back. I thought something dreadful may have happened. Nice car and even nicer coin. Too bad it's not yours. I thought I might make you a little jealous.
You have a beautiful house and pool, Bing, but I'm not the jealous type. I like seasons - radically different seasons. As far as the coin goes, yeah: too bad it's not mine. I keep wanting to buy ancient gold but the Powerball numbers keep saying "NO!"
Well its sure nice to have you back JA, it looks like you got the right rig for the job.. Jw, can me and the wife come over for a week or two...
JA, at least your snow will melt. Ours has been here since Nov, and will not go away until May most likely. Heck, we had a 6 day stretch this year where the high temp never got above 0, and over two weeks where the low never got above 0. Absolutely brutal this year.
And here I am, sitting in 80 degree weather, with the fan blowing on me & sipping my water slowly since were rationing it.
Yeah talk about brutal. I live in eastern NC and 48 hours ago the snow started to fall. Within 12-15 hours we had a foot of snow. A blimey FOOT. Our typical yearly snowfall is about .25" if that. Most years we get nothing. This morning every bit of that foot of snow was gone. Like *POOF* gone. Weird. Anyway, ancient gold is a beautiful area to collect. Wish I could afford some.
Hey brother ... as I stated the other night, I'm sorry that you've had a tough go this last while, but I'm glad to hear that you still seem to be in good spirits ... => ummmm, is this winter-season-enough for ya?!! (Epic dog-walk this past weekend)
I'm not sure why it's funny that you're rationing water by sipping it slowly, but somehow it is, lol.
Man I want to experience real snow so bad, not like a terrible blizzard, but after living in tropical weather for basically your whole life, snow is almost like a myth that you want to see for yourself. So steve, when is the tauntaun race going to be held?
BTW welcome back John. To be honest I actually didn't notice you were gone (I thought I saw you post last week?)
Aint that the truth, never been in snow my entire life. I dont count the fake man made B.S. at strip malls during x-mas either.
There were actually "10" dogs with us that day ... plus, there were 5 pretty girls and 1 happy fella!!
I hope that's not you shoveling snow. Isn't that what kids are for? That's what my Dad always told me...in the Winter I got to shovel and in the Summer I got to mow the lawn, and clear branches that fell off trees
