Another sheet. B-*. Getting rarer now. Not looking forward to dishing out for a Kansas City any time soon.
I don't know which of the threads on results is active, so I'm posting in both. If the pictures don't copy, they are in the other thread. Hey guys, just joined your ranks two weeks ago, after two months of CRH halves and quarters. I still do those too, so no worries, Anyways, started strap searching too, and I get to keep my same tellers, so they text me when something cool "walks in". Best day ever?! So, I went around town buying all the two dollar bills, and one bank said they had some in the vault, and asked if I wanted those too. I answered yes of course. So let me state my finds. No stars. Nothing "fancy" about the serials. But. Cool stuff. 2003 A $2 x10. F17640538A - 48A. UNC. 2003 A $2 x90. K06352401A-500A (Excluding 441-450). UNC. Needless to say, I want those other ten!
are the KC stars rare? 90%+ of the 1976 twos that i get, including star notes are KC district (probably because i live here though). i have only ever found one 1976 star that wasnt, and it is minneapolis
The KC (J) 1976 $2 stars are rare as sheets. $2,000+ in CU for a 16 note sheet. As singles they are scarce and maybe $10 to $40 each based on condition. Minneapolis singles aren't common but not rare. Im not sure on the value of an individual note, but a Minneapolis sheet is priceless and possibly illegal to own, as none were released to the public to my knowledge.
okay. i didnt know that minniapolis didnt release sheets. i always wondered if the blackbook price for 1976 J-* (or J in general, ) was a misprint. guess not. now i just wish i hadnt have spent all the worn ones . the gift shop at the FRB of KC sells older sheets of 4 bills, but i think they only have $1, $5, $10 and $20 bills there
I don't believe KC stars came in 4 note sheets. But it's certainly worth asking if they have any for sale.
Just came in the mail today, my oldest star, a 1928 $2 Legal non-mule. Not in the best shape, but the star is a nice deep red.
Two new 1934D $5 Silver Certificates, love the blue. Both have great embossing, although the 64 EPQ is a few shades whiter.
1922 $20 Gold Certificate ~ I also have this note in a 25 grade, but this one is really clean and has decent centering.
I believe Minneapolis & Kansas City $2 * in CU go for $100 -$125. They both have a production of 640,000 notes.
This came yesterday but I didn't have time to photograph it until now. There are now only two more large Nationals needed to complete my personal goal. I have all the matching small Nationals already.
I located two completed listings in my eBay watch list at $76.01 for Kansas City and $103.75 for Minneapolis. They were graded 65 EPQ however. Perhaps my estimates were a bit low. Still, I would reduce that price by 1/3rd for a raw note in CU.
