honestly, if you bid on this type of auction, you are a noob. when i first started, i would shake the dice and put in a low bid. but nowadays, i don't want a coin that "may" be MS61. I want it in MS67 because the highest grade anyone else has at the time for this hypothetical coin is a MS66. i am not wasting my money on something i don't KNOW what it is.

this type of listing will eventually be the subject of someones "oh my god i got burned on ebay" thread

Yes, but if you read the eBay rules...which I posted a few posts earlier, this is not the case. The rules say that coins graded by the 4 grading services that meet eBay's criteria "can" have their numeric grade listed in the auction...it does not say they "must" have their grade listed. I agree with you...there is no good honest reason to not list the grade, but based on how I understand the rules, it is not required.

Oh no not that! Then we'd have to learn how to grade!

Here are the 2 other members of the team. Very nice also, although I like the other two better.

One thing I know, this sport takes a lot of talent. The ones with the brooms, will you look at them sweep!

No, I just threw in a bid for fun. I also like it when guys here on the forum do their, "Guess the grade" topics. I have no problem with having that kind of fun during an auction. There are coin auctions for well know charities on some auction websites. This would be a great idea for that purpose.

With the inability of TPG's to protect us from Chinese made knock offs of their slabs, I can understand why eBay removed it. Morgans are a prime target when it comes to those knock offs. PCGS themselves could have reported that auction, easily. Hope their Dupont holograms are worth it. I hear NGC is getting a scratch resistant coating, instead.;)

Did you see their "neked" Sochi 2014 promotional photos, well, almost "neked"?

So if you don't like it skep to the next auction. The fact that you don't like it is no reason for the auction to be pulled if it isn't breaking any rules.

Really? Considering we don't know what the grade was on that holder how did it affect the price?

Slightly more than raw, because you do know it is guaranteed to be genuine.

My previous posts in this thread are accurate.

And I agree with your premise " It doesn't say anywhere that you must list the grade. "

Consider this: "1. Move from arguing the substance of a disagreement to attacking the person with whom you disagree. (This is called an ad hominem argument. Attack the messenger while you disagree with their message. People often do this when they can’t win an argument.)",

"6. Presume to know what another person is thinking and assume you know the motives behind their words and actions. Put yourself in the seat that only God Almighty occupies and impugn their intentions. "

found on: The Art of Being a Jerk Online: 10 Sure Ways.

All this even after I asked you to take it private, this is no ones bad but your own.

That's what I would like to avoid (sorry...but rules are rules). We really need to keep the topic on the coins or I'll have to close the thread.

Might as well, that way you can kill many birds with one stone. I support your decision.
