Do people post links to registry sets or personal albums of their collections? I have found some when reading post at random but I would like to see more coins rather than scrolling through posts seeing one coin at a time. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the time I spend on CT and the education is priceless but I would like to just sit and go over sets or types of coins and paper money if these links are available.
I have a Liberty Seated type set in PCGS' Collectors Showcase at http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/showcase.aspx?sc=1877. I will be adding a dime and a quarter soon after they arrive which should be tomorrow or Friday. A few of the coins need better pictures which I will eventually get to replacing. PCGS does not allow other grading services' coins in their registry sets so my set uploaded there is missing six NGC graded coins. Two half dimes, one dime, one 20 cent piece, and two quarters. I can upload these and make them viewable but I haven't tried to do that yet and I don't know how someone can see them. NGC does allow other grading services' coins in their registry sets so a collector is able to show all of the coins in their sets.
u can also go to NGC an check out registry sets http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/public_sets.aspx
Here is a set you should not miss - http://www.pbase.com/miker/large_cents And you can find a variety collection http://www.largecents.net/collection/index.html If you can't tell I like large cents. Or even Russ Logan's site - http://rob.com/russ/collection/index.html Just a few I track and use.
My Morgan set. http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/publishedset.aspx?s=105416&ac=1 My Eisenhower set. http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/publishedset.aspx?s=120145&ac=1
Thanks for the links Pacecar I was excited to see the Morgan mint mark type set, as that is a set that could be competed rather easily and upgraded as finances become available. I never imagined that they recognized short sets like that I only thought of sets as 1 of each coin in that design. Breaking them down into smaller more manageable sub sets is awesome. I love this site I learn something everyday. Now I will have to research other sub sets to see what I might try and complete as I am eclectic or so I've been told and my coin collecting is all over the place because I like some of all of it.. Thanks again
I finally had time to go through your album and I loved the '58 dime the seated liberty series is one of the most beautiful.
Here is a link to a few of my toners. Imbedded within the link are tabbed links to other collector's photogenic toners. http://www.robecsimages.com/
These are great thanks for sharing them. Do you know when the Russ Logan list was put together and those prices realized? That is a huge collection and educational as well.
Capital Plastics makes a variety of holders for sub sets. The two most popular for the Morgan dollars is their All Mints holder which comes two ways, one with and one without a hole for the obverse. I have one with the sixth hole filled with a set of matching toned dollars. Another they have is for the U. S. Silver Dollars 1878, #428-A, which is a five hole holder for the 8 TF, 7 TF, 7 over 8 TF, CC and S mints dollars. I have two of this holder, new old stock, one I'll eventually fill and the other I don't plan on keeping. I just have to decide whether to keep the black or white one. Jake's Coin Supplies has some of the lowest prices of the internet stores or you can find someone with new old stock like I did or a used one in decent condition on eBay for less. I like how the white holders really show off the toning. Black holders are better for blast white silver dollars, they really pop in them.
These are great I am thinking of putting together an F/VF set of twos I have a couple of raw examples but I'm going to be adding some graded pieces soon yours are tremendous.
Wow I could literally spend days looking at those images sheer beauty not just the coins but the photography as well.
No clue when the set was put together - http://www.logan.com/russ/bio.txt but this was good reading. Looks like a lot of years were put into the collection.
