I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is doubling or not and if that is an RPM? I just hope this picture is good enough for y'all to tell.
Could you go into more detail please I'm new at searching coins for errors and RPMs and not familiar with with all the terms.

MD is short for Mechanical Doubling ( other names also) where the die that struck the coin wasn't doubled itself, but the die was not perfectly fitted to the press and it moved a little as it struck the coin leaving a flattened shelf like layer. Since this is after the strike, it is considered to be damage by most and no value is increased by it. It is thousands of times more common than a coin struck by a die which was doubled in it's preparation. It is one of the more frustrating things to learn to tell for beginning searchers.
I thank you for your explanation. I was pretty sure it wasn't a doubled die of any value because it did look flat, but it is pretty cool looking and I may just keep it for an in hand reference. I've been trying to read and learn about doubling and RPMs, when you say a die which was doubled in preparation are you saying the die when engraved was doubled by the engraver accidentally rather than the coin being double struck by the die itself?
