Absolutely. In eBay's world, the buyer is right 100% of the time, and needs NO reason to return other than the fact he didn't receive what he "thought" he would.

I had an eBay seller outreach phone call the other day and they're pushing for all sellers to allow 30 day returns and for everyone to sign up for their hassle-free return system.

BTW, "I" like "quotation" marks too. ":D"

I still have not signed up for their hassle free program and never will. """ i would not do 30 day returns either unless i sold a fake or something serious

You would do 30 day returns, too. eBay and PayPal allow all buyers 40 days, no matter what your policy is as a seller. So whatever number we sellers pick is moot. It's 40 days.

Open up a case and they will undoubtably favor you. If he does not respond within a certain amount of time, the case is automatically ruled in your favor.

I normally would just accept it, however I myself do strive to be honest myself guys. I feel treat others as you wish to be treated. If there is some sort of error... Any error at all then I want buyer satisfaction. The fact that you don't tell me the boxes are damaged and put up a picture you know is not the picture of your coins from an auction you had 6 months ago to *me* is deceitful.

You all can disagree with me and think I am having mere buyer's remorse, but I look for quality in my purchases. I don't mind a little shelf wear, but what I received was on the borderline of damaged junk.

I don't think your having buyers remorse as much as I think that you "over thought" what you might be receiving.

After all, once you determined that the photograph was wrong for the auction (and sellers CAN add photo's after bids are received) you "could" have simply cancelled your bid.

Once problem which exists with ebay is that it is inexperienced sellers selling to inexperienced buyers. Despite what some folks believe, eBay is not an "approval service". You buy, you pay, you learn.

I think that just the fact that you posted this on here tells me you felt guilty about wanting to send them back. You were looking for support, and when you didn't get it, you decided that you didn't care what we thought. Funny how people look for opinions, only if those opinions support theirs.

P.S. Everyone looks for quality in their purchases. I have yet to have anyone walk through my doors and say, "I'm looking to throw away some money today!".

It is funny how people neglect to read entirely, thus portraying ignorance, my friend.

I have no guilt whatsoever in sending these coins back. I feel it is within my right, and if you went back and read properly, my question wasn't "should I send" nor "is it right to send". Critical thinking comes into play here. My question was "can I send". Do you see the difference? I stated quite boldly that I felt the seller was in the wrong, thus eliminating the entire first part of your post. Secondly, I was not looking for any opinions on the matter. This is completely throwing away your post in general. My original question was: am I covered by the eBay buyer protection. I am new to eBay and have never worked with returns before. I read the fine print under the 14 day return policy that said this is ONLY valid in cases of, and it went on to list those reasons. I was ensuring my case fell under these circumstances.

I was not looking for subjective, opinionated conjecture on the matter as you perceived. I was looking for objective experienced advice from those that have worked with this before. So in short, I fail to see the point of your post other than you failed as a reader to take in the meaning of what I wrote.

    Respectfully,

    Tyler

You're right, my bad. The listing said nothing of a 14 day return policy or ebay buy back guarantee. I can understand your confusion on whether or not you could return the item. Sorry but my ignorance sometimes gets the best of me.

Again, there are conditions as to which those terms come into play - I wanted to ensure my scenario fell under these. I do not understand your negativity nor need to post as you are.

Thank you to everyone who has replied - I have begun the return process and I hope it goes as smoothly as mentioned by others.
