So can someone explain to me what this group is? Can anyone join in? How does it work and when do you give these. I just read this one and found this to be such a grand idea.
Very happy to know a family member found this! Thanks for posting to let us know you read this thread.
Ditto. Great presentation. Thanks for the information, and thanks to krispy for reviving the thread because I missed the presentation when originally posted!
Would LOVE to see anything you may wish to share! It would greatly enrich this thread and the Paper Money forums of CT! Thanks in advance!!!
I'll 2nd that!!! We would love to see anything you can share!!! WOW ~ How enjoyable it would be to sit down and study some of those pieces! Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you enjoyed the piece. I would encourage you to read some of the other pieces from the group as it will give you a little more information about the subject. While they are all good, one of the best pieces written (I think) was done by Clay. http://www.panix.com/~clay/currency/Clarence_Holbert.pdf I hope you can stop back by with a little more to share with us. Best Regards ~ Darryl
Thank you, Darryl. I could have used a proof reader to correct some of the errors such as "road a camel", but, nonetheless, I am very happy and proud about the project. It was such an excellent story that I simply happened to stumble upon.
No thanks needed, you earned it!!! What I have learned from the couple I have done is that each time I learn much more than I imagined I would! It is a difficult but enjoyable journey through history that seldom only focuses on the art of the artist. There is so much more to their story and what shaped them as an individual and as an artist. Sometimes it is very hard to find these little tidbits of history. When you do, it is like a piece of the puzzle that helps build a better picture. It is great that a family member has found this thread!
Hey, thanks for reviving this thread, Gordon! If you have some scans of his work you'd like to post, we'd be happy to see them!
