Thanks, I loved the coin passionately when I first saw it. I agree with you-- the thing that prevented MS 65 were the cheek dings, particularly the noticeable one in the mid cheek area. I am happy with it as a 64 CAC, and love the rainbow coloration.

This is the first unc I have seen of this coin. Too bad it has been cleaned, but there is still some luster left. That is one heck of a lamination both missing and retained.

BTW, I can't get used to flipping the coin left to right to see the other side. These all have medal orientation rather than coin orientation.

The 1845-0 $2.50 is one of my favorite coins . Found it on Stack's web site recently. It would be great to find IMG_0450.JPG IMG_0449.JPG the best one, I think it is a 61.

One of my favorite designs on world modern, jello. Mine is about the same look/grade.

    Cool lamination, RLM.

My latest addition is a Nero denarius I did an even trade with someone else. I liked the legends of the obverse & surfaces more then I did my old one, even though this is a commoner reverse.

I think I just won my first ever HA auction, and my 2c Type coin.

I am the high bidder, I assume that means I won, but HA hasn't invoiced me yet. I have bit on thousands of coins there, this is the first one I won.

Very excited for this "odd" denomination.

55ddoobv.JPG 55ddorev.JPG New to this particular board. I am a Lincoln cent collector and have the number one Lincoln Cent circulation issue 1959-Date registry set. I have some of the best out there. This was my latest addition to my overall collection. Being born in 1958 Lincoln cent both wheat ear and memorial were readily available. The coin that fascinated me the most was the 1955 DDO Lincoln. NGC has graded close too 4000 examples of this error coin and have graded on 31 in m65. That is 14 in brown, 14 in red brown and 3 in red. NGC has only grade 2 in MS66 with 1 example in red and one in red brown with none higher. I present my NGC MS66RB 1955 DDO Lincoln. Both the obverse and reverse have taken on some very nice toning. The doubling on the obverse is stunning. As a Lincoln cent collector this is a once in a life time coin that I had passed on before but this time pulled the trigger. I hope you all like it.

Wow, Joe. The obverse of that coin both makes my eyes hurt because of the strong double die, while still drawing them in because of the coins beauty. A truly nice centerpiece of anybody's collection.

    Nice 2c score!
I'm like you geekpryde, I've bid on many of HA coins and have only won once. Sometimes I even pad my bid and pay a bit more than it's worth and still get beat out by those with much deeper pockets than myself. Still, they consistently have some of the top coins in the industry, so I'll keep trying.

Agreed I'm sure I'm one of the problems my pockets aren't too deep but when I want something it's like a dog with a bone I hate being second best at an auction so sometimes I overpay but a lot of my best coins came from there I look at ones I really love as a long term investment anyway
