Ive had this coin since a kid. Tried once several years ago to get it graded by anacs but the guy said it was no guarantee it could be graded as he was unfamiliar with error coins and advised me to save my money. Took it to a local bullion dealer that day and he couldnt explain it but offered me $50 bucks for it. Im hoping someone could explain how it got struck like this...
This is a no-brainer. Do you see how the lettering is reversed? Someone pounded another coin into it. PMD! Chris
Thanks guys. Im not into ripping anyone off. Never heard of pmd. Looked it up tho and probably the correct answer. always thought it might have got jammed between two coins at the mint. maybe theres people out there that collect this stuff and can get 50 for it legit lol if anyone can recreate this id like to see!
The guys are telling you the truth . this coin is not worth anything because it is a altered coin . even if something like this did happen at the mint it still would be a post mint damaged coin .
I have made 2 of these myself... You take two cent coins and wrap them between a piece of leather. Then you squeeze them really tight on a workbench vice and leave it like that overnight. Then you achieve what you have. I would of sold it to that dealer for the $50 bucks! You would of made a profit of $49.99
All day? Not hardly! He'd write you off quicker than you could spit, and it would be your last transaction with him. You know, you would get much better deals from him in the future if you just told him it's PMD and you're glad you didn't sell it to him. Chris
