A very nice looking 1953-S Franklin Half Dollar. Graded by PCGS as a MS-65. Sure wish it was a FBL but this is a tough date to get that. There were 4,148,000 minted. The price takes a jump from MS-60 as it goes up and a four digit price in a high grade with FBL is not unusual.
I do hope you are enjoying them. In higher grades the set is difficult to assemble but in lower grades it’s fairly easy. Much more difficult with FBL’s. Sure wish this was an FBL but not even close.
Nice coin. These really do appear to be getting more popular, FBL or not. If I was collecting Franklins I would be more concerned about milk spots than FBL. Just my opinion.
