I'm not trying to start a controversy or get a debate going I would just like to know which CT members you would ask personally for help or information about certain areas in the numismatic arena. I have an interest in the following and would like to know who I could follow on CT or ask privately in conversation for advice not just about types of coins but also coins being auctioned. I have been collecting for a long time and have gain a lot of basic knowledge, but at 50+ years old I realize that seeking counsel often saves time and error both of which can be costly and educational. Thanks in advance and here are the interest I have.
    1.Lincoln Cents
    2.Two Cent Pieces
    3.Three Cent Nickel
    4.Jefferson Nickels
    5.Buffalo Nickels
    6.Indian Head Cents
    7.Civil War Tokens
    8.Toned Coins
Also feel free to list those in other areas of the hobby like Die Pairs, Die Cracks, Errors of any Type, Dollar Coins of any type. If you feel you are an expert please list yourself or send me a PM if you are to modest to admit in open forum. Believe I know there are books and web sites and you can list those as well and I have read numerous ones, but I am looking for live people that can answer my questions and give advice. I also believe there others like myself who could benefit from this information. Again Thanks in Advance.

Jefferson Nickels would be Lehigh96, also gbroke.

TomB for Barber coinage, and probably alot more series too.

rlm cents for Lincoln cents I believe.

    caleb for Kennedy errors.

Conder101 for PCGS / NGC slab varieties and TPG info (including the basement slabbers)

and who could forget GDJMSP, for facts, not opinions, on everything coins. :D

Greekpryde answered for Jeff Nickels. What I would recommend is finding a good dealer you can work with - Like for indian heads(and maybe lincolns) I would say the penny lady or rick snow. For coins in general some people work with a dealer like Kanga working with Angel Dee's. I think rlm's cents for lincolns and marshall, coner101 and leadfoot for largecents. Then in general there are several around here like Doug(gdjmsp), Matt (lostdutchman), treashunt, green and many others that I don't have their login in names readily available that can provide good input. There are several dealers on the board also - besides just Matt and the penny lady that can also assist.

For Kennedy varieties, I would send a PM to atrox001 on these boards if I needed help figuring out what it was.

I'd be very careful of taking any dealer on this board as an "expert" in anything other than the un-named catagory of:
9 - buying coins cheap and selling them high.

My advice is to seek counsel from those in the community who rarely post pictures of coins other than to convey idea's and knowledge. These folks are in Doug's ilk, and enjoy the hobby from the perspective of gaining and sharing knowledge.

... again, be careful of self proclaimed professors who market themselves or present themselves as such.

When you find someone at the defensive side vs. many dealers in the forum, ask yourself why and consider their opine carefully.

  16. There are some experts that no longer post here unfortunately. :(

Don't forget cladking for clad coinage of course and 19lyds for Ike dollars. :) TC

The reality is many quality dealers and collectors both will glady share their knowledge free of charge they realize that educating someone or steering them in the right direction is the best policy is free and could eventually lead to a potential customer or even friend many of us have learned much from each otherand are willing to share that is one of the things I like best about this hobby/ business

I would vote for timmah for VAM cents from the 90's and BNB for 3-legged Buffalo nickels.
