Do you think they will ever take Lincoln of the penny? Or do you think they will put an other iconic figure on the coin( like barber, morgan, liberty, ect)?
It's going to be very difficult/almost impossible for that to happen with the cent or any other US coin with a president's image. It'a all a political process!! There are lobby groups that would scream bloody murder if you tried to remove the presidential images. Or you would be called unAmerican/unpatriotic for even considering it. It's a shame that our coins are being held hostage by people who most likely don't even give a second glance to the coins they use in their day to day lives.
Some private minter did in fact parody an Arkansas state quarter with Clinton and Lewinsky on the reverse. As one might expect, the design is less than family-friendly so I hesitate to post it. Enquiring minds can google "Clinton Lewinsky quarter".
Lincoln will be on the cent until they finally come to their senses and discontinue the coin. Then there will probably be a drive to move him to another coin. (Probably the replacement for the President dollar. The President series ends and gets permanently replaced by Lincoln. In which case they won't end the cent before 2017.)
It would be hard to change the coins. I'm sure that the people have been on the coins for a long time.
Lewinksy recently switched to the Republican party. Apparently, the Democrats left a bad taste in her mouth.
