My CU forgot to order my boxes for the week AGAIN. I went begging to a couple banks and grabbed 3 boxes of dimes. Hope they are good.

I am getting another bag of Ike's tomorrow. Much sooner than I expected, but I am not complaining either.

    Box of Halves: Skunk

That's 7 straight skunks. However, I'm happy to be hunting boxes again!

As you have probably guessed, finding a Shield nickel is VERY RARE! I have searched probably 100 boxes (200,000 nickels) over the past year and have found old Jeffs, War Nickels, Buffalo Nickel and even a few V-Nickels but never found any Shield Nickels. That's actually one of my 2014 goals this year. Regardless, congratulations!

    That's awesome.

    $16 CWR nickels - no silver, only 2 pre-1960
Box of pennies - 11 wheats (oldest '44), 7 Canada (oldest '42 King George), upgraded about 15 slots in my circulation penny folder.

The nickel was strangely from a bank wrapped roll. I dont understand how it passed through when it is a bit smaller than a normal nickel.

Very cool. You've given us all hope :)
I've seen all kinds of stuff in bank wrapped rolls so it's not surprising that it made it in there. What is surprising is that at 1867 nickel is still in circulation!

The oldest coin that I have found in circulation was, oddly, an 1861 British half penny (I live in America). The oldest US coin was an 1893 Indian head penny.

First box of halves ever yielded me (7) 40% (one 1967 in MS condition), 2 proofs, 5 NIFC, 2 errors: one double clashed dies and I believe I found one on an improperly annealed planchet. New box ordered. :)
