    Its just a mark that happens to look like a 2, not an error.

    on a serious note, if one believes that they see a second "2", (which I don't necessarily), it's not impossible. It could have come from the first "2" in the date by way of a grease filled or otherwise filled die that dropped onto this planchet during striking.
