Since the 2014 Silver Proof Quarter ATB set goes on sale tomorrow, which of the new designs is your favorite? For me, it is the Everglades. Yes, I do live in Florida, but that has nothing to do with it. It is because it seems to have the least amount of "stuff" on it, so it has the greatest amount of mirrored fields and therefore will look the best in a proof strike. I wanted to like the Smoky Mountains coin also, but it is gunked up with too much stuff and will have way too much in the way of frosty fields and hardly any mirrored appearance.
I choose Everglades as well. I'm a sucker with any coin that has animals on it. Will definitely be getting a puck version as well.
Smoky Mountains for me. That's why I prefer a matte proof look over mirrored proofs - way too much contrast that takes away from the design. I'd like the Everglades, but come on, NO alligators, what were they thinking?
I don't think that is the selected design, although I'd vote for it. Sometimes you have to wonder if the CFA & CCAC have the best interest of this program at heart or if they're just plain stupid political appointees.
I like that design also, Stewart, but you kind of have to pick a design that will actually be minted. Unless, of course, you plan on minting it yourself.
I vote for te Arches. I like animials so the Everglades would be close second. I don't like "generic" people on coin. Historical...yes. Mythical...yes. I can accept people in the background if they are small or a part of the action. Like the Mt. Rushmore. I don't like when they are the focus. The Civil Rights coin is an example.
Actually I was being sarcastic but forgot to use the roll your eyes thingy. Also trying to show what could have been to what it is really gonna be. As for the 2014s, I like the the Everglades and that's it.
