I found this 1913 Type I Buff at an Antique Mall for $12. Good deal?

I didn't see the scratch across the front until I got home. :(

What is it's approximate grade and value? Thanks.

How did you miss that scratch? I think it kills the value

I hate to second the bad news, but that scratch just screams out "look at me!". bkozak33 is right, the scratch kills the value. However, on the bright side, it looks like you did pretty good on a large cent lot.

I would guess you paid about what it was worth.

    Too much for the scratch.

probably worth about 11-16$, the scratch lowers the value by about 5$ so it wolud be worth about 16-21$ with out the scratch, but good buy for only 12$. the grade is probably about VF-35

Actually, the value is deflated much more than $3 on this one, and it's value is what someone would pay for it, which would be less than the $12 the OP paid. Grade would be DETAILS or DAMAGED as that scratch is quite deep and runs from rim to rim across the entire obverse side.
