1971 s 1c (ODV-028) & 1989 1c (RVD-005) Value?

I just read about it this morning and looked through the stash. I think I got it.

 

There is something going on with the one on the left.

Dont know how rare these are either, may I have information on that please?

Well Tim, I can't tell if the '71-S is the re-engraved bow tie or not, from the pics. If it is, the rarity & value would depend on the reverse design. The re-engraved steps is rarest. As for the '89, if it does have the reverse of the '88, to the best of my knowledge, it would be unique. None have been found that I know of. I do know that there are some '89 dies that look like '88 due to die polishing. That would be my guess.

 

The vest looks wierd. It looks like two bow ties. One on top of the other.

 

I found a couple of sites of people saying theyve gotten theirs certified.

I still can't tell for certain, but the bottom one looks possible for re-engraved bow tie.

I see no significant difference, so I would assume it is now the re-engraved bowtie. Sorry.
