Within 5 minutes of my last post here I visited VCoins and saw about 100 crocs. Of these I felt about 5 were reasonably priced and presentable. Of those I bought one. This would not have happened if you people had not brought the subject up today so now I'm out $145 and the coin is not even a different variety from one I already had. It is an addiction; you know it is. Currently the nicest one there is not the most expensive but I'm still of the opinion that the bulk of these on the market are overpriced. I notice that recent auctions seem to be bringing more than estimate.

Number three closed today. Which of you bought it?

#3 closes soon and I may bid ;) There are two I'd like to get, this one and another. We'll see...

There are a couple more coming up and as everyone has said, at any given point in time there are scores of them for sale at fixed prices.

These coins are trouble! They all have flaws so it's tempting to keep upgrading, upgrading, upgrading... I will probably get one today or this month and will probably still keep looking for better ones at decent prices, whatever 'decent prices' means at any given point in time.

Let's not just forget about old Antoninus Pius! He was warming the throne for 20 odd years in between Hadrian and Marcus Aurelius, afterall. Even has some nice coins in his name. :)

The prices on these COL-NEMs really have been going up rapidly. Guess we need to stop gushing about them and creating increased desirability!

Debating about my max bid for tonight's offering. It's been harshly cleaned but I like the strong strike and it is well-centered. I'll probably try for one of the other upcoming COL-NEMS too. Or not. Dang, there are WAY too many coins on my watch list!

I bid in the last few minutes for that Stack's Nemausus, raised it a few times, but it became higher than I wanted to pay and there are always more...

Will be interesting to see if someone on CT got it!

I think it went for ~$300 including BF, or maybe that was the next bid increment.

Sorry Doug........that may have been my fault., :) It certainly is an addiction, ask my wife. I sell, but only to buy more........week on week my stock/collection increases, never getting any smaller. I dont have a hope in hells chance of selling all the coins I have in the next 20years......and 108 coins arrived today, over 20 yesterday and 32 more purchased today too. I have a problem. seriously. this is why I need to focus on a collection, to have some goals and sell to fund that.
What are these auctions you all talk about?

Maybe the price is going up because we here on cointalk are cornering the market. We should start doing that with other coins and control the prices. ;)

Good idea, but there are those who walk among us who still pay too much (I think they are aliens planted here to keep coin prices on the rise).

Am I the only one that's not really into these? What is it about these croc coins that make them so popular?

ok, so what are the auctions you guys keep referring to...........or are they secret?

No secret. Just use an auction aggregator like numisbids or sixbid to find upcoming auctions. Both have search functions, watch lists, etc.

Good grief! I tried bidding on another one just now, the Stephen Album auction. Estimate was 100-120 USD. I dropped out after it got to a certain point and floor bidding continued until it hammered at... $480!
