I have 1802 (AN XI ) A Mint Mark France 5 Franc coin that I am trying to determine if it is real or not? What does the edge look like specifically? If any one has a pic it would greatly help. Also are there any known fakes of this coin?

Edge should read "DIEU PROTEGE LA FRANCE". There are fakes of everything out there. Try posting a picture.

I have the same year, though I believe from a different mint. Your coin has excellent detail. I can't say what the value is. What I would do is carefully weigh and measure the coin as soon as it is received.

It should look and feel like silver and weigh about 25 grams, taking into account that it has lost weight due to wear. Perhaps others can provide a more definitive answer.

You spent 200+ on a coin you're not sure of authenticity or egde details?

"A" apparently means Paris. Your coin differs from this one, though:

Again, I have yet to see your coin type in my searches. The rooster is normally at about 8 o'clock on the reverse. Still, I am not qualified to determine whether or not it is authentic.

There is no 5 francs with that design. The item is listed as no returns, so about your only option is to contact ebay at this point.

Yeah, I'd consider opening up a case with eBay and contacting the seller. Though I list my items with "no returns," I am generally very flexible in order to maintain my 100% rating.
