Hi all! Sorry I disappeared for so long, but the Holidays right up to the first week of January have been insane! Since I bailed on doing an Ontario show report, I did throw together a little one for the Concord Coin Show that was just held January 2-5. Something's going a little haywire with my site, I'm not sure what it's issue is exactly ... you can read the article but navigation around the rest of the site is wonky right now. So fair warning on that -- I just wanted to post this before it was time to post a FUN report!! http://lifeatthecoinshop.wordpress.com/2014/01/07/concord-coin-show-january-2014/ Happy shows, all!!
Great write up, especially the ending with the kid. If he was that excited with an 1804 LC, I couldnt imagine what an ancient would have done
I'm not over-exaggerating when I say he was SHAKING with excitement. It was the cutest thing -- and gives me hope that the industry will have a new generation of collectors and dealers who are as passionate as we are! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
ROFLOL!! So...funny! In and Out, the one time I went to Cal I went there, so...good! Justin... Nice work Amanda, I certainly hope you do some shows in Washington/Oregon soon. Maybe the Boeing show in a few weeks?
In N Out is worth any drive, right?? We were trying to get into the Pac West show, but the wait list is reeeeally long. We're on the list, but I have no idea when we'll be able to get up that way! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Hey I am almost 35 and I was pretty much shaking with excitement for an expensive spider man comic I needed this past november that my dad got me. I dont see the hobby dying anytime soon.
It's okay, as close as I am to Concord. I don't make it to many east bay shows. Last one I believe was Livermore last year. I'm going to do the Santa Clara and Sunnyvale shows this year however. Fantastic write up Amanda.
Hey I didn't know you lived so close! When is the next Santa Clara show? I actually have not been to a coin show before, maybe I'll make that one my first...
Great report Amanda, almost feel like I was there! Even if we can't make it to a particular show, it's always fun to live it through the eyes of another collector Hey, hope everyone is getting ready for the 50th Ann. Long Beach Coin Expo! I already have my pass printed out.
We will be at the Santa Clara show as well! No Sunnyvale for us, but we'll be ready to rock Santa Clara! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
We haven't missed a Long Beach in some 35 years! We'll definitely be there, in our usual spot -- table #517, two tables down from Heritage! Hope to see many Coin Talk faces there!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The Santa Clara is a great show, the biggest in Northern Cali Simon. In case your interested, here is a brief list of upcoming events in the area, even the old SF mint show is next month. Old SF Mint Coin Show - Feb. 22 & 23 Sunnyvale Coin Show - March 14 & 15 Santa Clara Coin Show - April 25-27 Fremont Coin Club Show - July 26 & 27
Was that 1 guard the owner of the pup? That was my second favorite of the report. My most favorite is like the rest of us, that little boy as a lot of us have been that kid before. I sometimes still feel like that.
