This is a thread for you guys to post the colonial coins (as in, coins intended for circulation in the US before the official US Mint was established). I know you guys have got some good ones. Whether it's a Fugio, State authorized coin, a Machins Mills or anything else, post it here!
Sou counter marked with RF (to designate it for use in French colonies in the Caribbean), if it hadn't been stamped it would have been for use in Canada.
Ok, so technically this isn't a colonial, but it might have circulated in the US (and I love it). So, I'm posting it anyway. James II half penny, 1688.
Ah man Bill, yours is better than mine. Is it graded? Here's mine...1783 Constellatio Nova, Crosby 1-A (R4) graded G06 by PCGS. So far the only one with that grade...
Here is the first colonial I ever owned. a 1787 Nova Caesarea. I believe it is the variety Maris 64-T.
Actually my nova constellatio isn't great yours is actually nicer mine f detail as enviro damage is very dark and hard to see would like an upgrade this year want around an xf yours is a nice clean brown one that's circulated but nice and clear
My fugio is nice but don't do what I did I got in a bidding war and overpaid for it a couple years ago ha was getting a whole bunch of good colonial coppers and someone kept outbidding me over and over on fugios and nova constellatios I must have under bid a dozen I finally got fed up and threw in a too high bid at the end on this one nice coin but should've paid $200 less oh well I made them way overpay on quite a few too
