Dream on. They're both normal reverses for the dates. Worth two cents. If the coin dealer agreed with you, you should have asked him to make you an offer.
Come on Tim, don't muck up this thread. Your coins don't have anything to do with it. Post them in this one.http://www.cointalk.com/threads/i-just-found-a-1992-close-am.240492/
You don't need to say anything more. The 1993 cent with the hideous black stain is a close AM cent, which would mean a further away FG. The 1992 is a a wide AM cent, which would mean a closer FG. Thus, they are worth two cents.
Tim - stay on topic ! You're welcome to post pics of your coins but do it in the appropriate threads ! So either you can stop, or I'll stop ya.
For 2014 I resolve to: get caught up on all current collections including dimes, cents, quarters, Sac and Prez dollars Purchase Star Spangled Banner commemorative Obtain wheat cents for collection from 1920-1935 Upgrade 1970-1979 dimes to raw full torches (admittedly a little less of a priority, though I have considered it) Decide if I want to go with an XF or BU set of Peace dollars and purchase at least 3 coins for the set Start either a Washington Quarter or Kennedy Half set. Obtain a Sante Fe Trail commemorative. (Last one probably won't happen, but neither do most New Year's Resolutions)
1. Finish my Roosevelt Silver Dime set. 2. Purchase my first Braided Hair Half Cent 3. Buy everything but the keys and semi-keys that I need to complete my wheat collection and maybe start buying some semi-keys. 4. Find a slabbed 1943-S steel cent that I like and purchase it. 5. Try not to get sucked into buying a whole ton of Braided Hair Large Cents... More to come, but just for starters lol
I want to: 1. finish up my Jeffersons from circulation set(2 left!) 2. fill at least 2 rolls of war nickels 3. fill 1 roll of silver roosies 4. finish my silver roosie set 5. I'm sure more will come as time goes on.
Stop buying from the mint, except for one 2014 Silver Proof Set. Concentrate on buying more paper currency. (U.S. large size notes only) Continue to look for a large size Batavia Illinois and Chicago National Bank Note. However there is no rush on this since I have been watchful for several years. They have to meet, my graded condition verses cost by a dealer/individual, or listed by Heritage or Stacks in my condition range.
Ok I'm lost who in there right mind would pay 20k on a 20 year old cent. I've hard of crazy things but that's way up there. Oh my gosh for that you can buy 15 Saint gaudens or some nice retail property.
Well 2014 with over fifty years of collecting coins i only need to get a few 1878 world trade dollars. But have to be able to be graded coin. Beat cancer one more year.
I don't really have any specific collecting goals in 2014. I think my biggest goal is to actually get more into collecting like I used to be. 2013 was a very busy year and I feel deprived since I didn't really have the time/money to really collect the things I wanted to collect. Maybe I'll work on my Jefferson nickel set, and/or start up a Franklen half dollar set, I've always liked those.
