November. Doesn't include PP fees. I am sure I can find higher percentage ones if I bother to look, this happens to be the most recent.
My eBay fees are 6%. Then add PayPal then shipping cost, which I eat. But I'm a higher volume seller.
I knew this would bring out the ebay bashers. They give back 2% of their fees and the buyers still complain. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm paying 10% ebay/PayPal fees. So 2% represents 20% of the ebay fees. And I'm not sure how that is like China.
I honestly don't belong here as I'm not a coin collector. But I am a collector, and I do buy on ebay; and this is the first forum I've found on this topic not run by ebay itself. I collect records mainly, and sometimes 16mm Castle Films, and admit I'm a very small-volume buyer. It's a hobby, not a business for me, and I go after only the few, usually inexpensive items I really want. Ebay bucks have never made the difference on whether I buy an item or not, but they have indeed come in handy. And now I get this message from on high telling me I don't buy enough to deserve receiving the bonus I earn on what I do buy. This truly rankles me. Imagine if you were treated this way in, say, a supermarket. What if they charged you a higher price for the same item than the guy in line ahead of you, or refused your credit card, or honored his coupons and not yours. Would you be angry? Would you refuse to shop there again? Like the rest of these faceless online poohbahs, they treat their customers this way just because they can. And we let them get away with it.
The 'big spenders' like we've been named SHOULD receive MORE rewards for buying more products. It was ebay's money to award out how they saw fit and they changed their policy. It is the people who keep coming back to ebay on a regular basis that should receive rewards, and the more you use the service, the higher the reward. They arent doing anything unfair or illegal. They are rewarding their loyal repeat customers. If you dont like it, dont shop on ebay, or shop more. You only have to spend $250 over the course of three months, and either way its not a make or break decision on that amount. They probably realized that all of these small time spenders were bleeding them dry a penny at a time for not even using ebays service on a regular basis. Ebay has PLENTY to complain about, but this topic isnt it.
They do it at some markets, they have special cards for their store that may have minimums ect. You just said they have never made a difference in whether or not you buy. Are you really going to get worked up over literally a couple dollars?
You are. Most supermarkets have cards now that track your purchases and those who spend more get more coupons, special discounts etc. If you don't spend enough you don't get the special deals. Not unfair, just a fact of life.
