Drapery Vs No Drapery

    Can someone explain the difference between these two varieties in the Liberty seated series.
    I've looked at the pictures in the redbook and they look pretty much that same to me.

    Ahhh, thank you.
    I never even looked at the left arm, always just the right.
    What was the reason for the design modification?

    Not exactly sure why I'm sure someone here knows me I prefer the 1837 &1838-o no stars the best and the Gobrecht dollar best of all glad I could help I remember asking the same question years ago long before ct or the Internet existed

    Over the years the size and shape of the drapery changed also.

    The 1845-O half dollar has a No Drapery variety due to excessive die polishing which removed it.

    To me the Liberty Seated coins have a much cleaner look with no drapery at the elbow.
