1925 Mercury Dime. Die clash?

You are correct, but what lesson did you learn from the coin pictured above?

I learned a lesson of not commenting in these threads, and yet, here I am...

 

For me; the evidence about there was a Multi denomination die clash is very clear. 96 years a go, everything was different to now. They didn't work with the same order they do in these days. and also Not, with the same Technologic. The past weekend I found something else. But I know in your mind THERE ARE SCRATCHES and nothing else. For you that is the last judgment (about this Post). For me; It's only the beginning of more layouts, and more investigation. Thank any way for your time and comments.

 

Carlos you need to put this coin away until you have a chance to learn how to tell a damaged coin from a mint error then you will be able to understand that this is a damaged coin. I would bet that everyone on this forum is laughing at you. this is horrible , the peace dollar was not even made back in 1925 . your dime has lots of cut marks on it fom a knife and that's all it is and nothing else.over the years of heavy use the cut marks have worn off the high parts of the design.

 

THE PEACE DOLLAR WAS MINTED FROM 1921 TO 1928. And then Again 1934-1935

 

You are right , I don't know what I was thinking about. anyway the rest of my post was correct. surely you don't think the 1925 dime is from a clashed die or any other type of mint error. I'm trying to help you learn about coins.

So it has a clash from a Walker and a Peace Dollar??? If you truly believe this, you need to send it to a TPG. If it comes back what you say it is, I think you could retire from it. However, if I were you, I'd go on to work tomorrow.

There are so many gashes on that Merc, you could probably match up a Buffalo nickel with it somewhere too. That would be 3 denominations. Rare doesn't begin to describe it!

 

I WILL STOP WITH MORE SPECULATIONS AT THIS POINT. In a MULTI-denomination Die clash more than one denomination is involved. But; If I want to prove that's happen in this dime. I need to spend a lot of most time doing layouts. Including, with the Buffalo Nickel and The Quarter 1-1/2 dollar made in 1925. Got to do it "before" send the dime somewhere else. like TPG. I have to admit something and please don't laugh at me but, with each overlay that Carlos Arriaga has put up on this thread, I have to admit that this guy is a freaking genius!

I mean, think about it. To sit and look at this Winged Mercury and eventually see correlation between the supposed scratches and two different, yet larger coins, with all three being designed by the same individual, is pure genius!

The relationships seem to be totally off the wall and out into deep space crazy but you gotta admit that the images line up pretty good?

From the first post, I never would have ever saw the reverse of a Peace Dollar in those scratches yet, there it is. As plain as the nose on my face!

Thank for your words 19Ldys; It's not easy to convince people who see scratches everywhere. Including "in the bottle of a soup".
The best probe about THIS DIME didn't suffer that much scratches is The reverse itself. Can something bit ONLY ON THE OBERSE but no the reverse?

I wasn't sure, I know he has something going on, I take my hat of to him, his mom should be very proud of him, and his sister, not to many people like him out there anymore, he would of been proud of me today, went shopping, and some A-HOLD, was yelling at an 80 yr old lady, from his car window, you should of seen me, I lost it, told him I was going to beat the F out of him, if he didn't leave her along, my beard is down to the ground, along with my hair, if you could of seen that A-HOLDS face it was price-less, every grand-mother that was outside followed me around the store, and thank me, one even told me she was following me around for safety, it was price-less !!!

 

Good job Rick! I'm turning 36 Wednesday, so I still consider myself a younger guy. I was taught, growing up, to respect my elders. This type if respect is dying in this country. Kudos to you Rick, and thank you!
