Hi guys, Quick question. For PCGS, for example, do coins that get slabbed as details go into population reports? I know that the population reports give the number of coins per specific grade...but do coins that for instance get slabbed as "VF details" show up in population reports, or if not, do they even get factored in to the overall population number?
Non_cents not knowing something numismatist related? Has the world gone mad?!! I too am waiting for the answer.
detail coins from pcgs have their own numbering scale, but have no pop. report, their not gradable heres the link http://www.pcgs.com/grades.html
here one of my detailed coins, showing no pop. report COIN INFORMATION Cert Verification #: 16569189 PCGS Coin #: 8908 Date, mintmark: 1853 Denomination: $20 Country: The United States of America Grade: Genuine (82 - Filed Rims) Mintage: 1,261,326 Holder Type: Standard Population: N/A
This was a good question that I had never thought about, but wondered about once you asked it. I feel like they should go into the overall population number, at least. Strange that they don't. They are 'genuine' coins, after all, problems aside.
