I've been collecting coins for nearly 5 decades. I collect mostly US coins but have come across many foreign coins over the years. As US coins are foreign to say "someone from Canada", I thought it would be interesting to list coin collection by country. Here is my list.

    By Quantity (Top Ten).

    United States
    Canada
    England
    Euro Coins
    India
    Spain
    Germany
    France
    Belgium
    the Netherlands

    By Value (Top Ten).

    United States
    Euro Coins
    Canada
    England
    China
    Switzerland
    France
    the Netherlands
    Norway
    India

    Let's see...
I have pre 1900 coins from: Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunswick -Wolfenbuttel, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, East India Company, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Netherlands, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Rome, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Peru, the US and Zanzibar.

I got these place names out of the Standard Catalog's table of contents.

I found some of the pre-1900 coins in the world coins bins at the coin shops. For 15 cents I have found some awesome coins. Please disregard this if you live in Maine. There's nothing in the ones around here...

I am impressed by everyone who keeps such lists. Maybe its because I am an accountant I do not wish to keep track of my collection, too much a busmans holiday I suppose. Maybe when I start teaching my sons geography by going through my bags and albums of misc world coins I will compile such a list.

man...i don't have that many modern world coins...but i don't have a list either. maybe something i can do some rainy day after the holidays.
the last time i was at a coin show i was trying to remember if i had this one type of world coin already or not, i couldn't remember...i should probably make one and stick it in a cloud somewhere for just such an occasion.

This is not 100% up to date since I have added a lot since I created the worksheet. 16 tabs for 11 geographical areas, country index, euro, global map, index, etc. I also have values listed for each coin which is always out of date. Takes a lot of time, but I like to be organized.

I also have separate worksheets for my U.S type set and Mexico Type set.

I'm anal retentive so I have a list for everything. My coin & card list has numerous tabs with lots of columns on each tab. My entire inventory of coins is on one tab and my entire inventory of cards is on another. I also have tabs for each US and Canadian denomination so that I can quickly tell which ones that I'm missing. I also track purchases by year and track the performance by year. I use Coinflation to update intrinsic value of coins and XL currency converter to update modern foreign coins. These tabs are linked to the tab with the entire inventory so that I can get an immediate update on currency and metal price changes.
