I have some Pre-1960 nickels that I have been saving over the years that I want to cash in, but first, what to save besides the low mintage date/mintmarks?

Knew about the war nickels but yes, this is what I am looking for. Errors or different varieties that are worth looking for. Also, what mintage level makes them worth saving?

The Jefferson Nickel series has very few key-dates. Only two specific dates come to mind besides the varieties mentioned above: 1939-D & 1950-D. Keep those for sure along with any war years.

You're very welcome, I have tons of pre-1960 Jefferson nickels to look through as well and it's a great guide on what to cherry pick

Always look for the 1942 D. But not the silver one. That is a key day.
