LRBs are not really my focus but sometimes a coin grabs my attention. This one has nice levels of detail that I simply couldn't resist. You don't always see this level of detail on the soldiers.

    Constantius II - Ae3

Obv:– FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C, Laureate, cuirassed bust right
Rev:– GLORIA EXERCITVS, Two soldiers standing either side of two standards
    Minted in Antioch (SMANH).
    Reference:– RIC VII Antioch 88

I've never seen one that sharp, Martin. Great find! Here's one I recently sold, a solid VF, but nowhere near as crisp as yours...

Maridvnvm... That coin has it all, surface, strike, clear legends, style (IMHO),
    and centering. That...coin......

I still have yet to photograph my puny Constantius II.:(

The soldiers details on the OP pics are superb and much less primitive than the Trier example I posted....lovely coin.

YOC, if you are asking me, i don't were this coin came from, but i picked it up from a guy at coin club, that brings a couple box's of Ancients when he comes. in fact tonight is club night and i hope he has a new bunch of coins..

They come in all hip orientations: hips out, standing straight, hips in. But I haven't noticed a pattern that would assign different styles to different mints. Someone needs to do a study: The Symbolic Significance of Hip Thrust Direction on Constantinian Bronzes.

Nice one Martin. I like the style just as much as the level of details.

There are coin clubs here in the Uk but they are few and far between. There are none in my area.

The best coin club I ever belonged to was almost a secret. I lived in the area for over fifteen years before I found it. Of course we did meet in private homes and members brought coins (sometimes thousands) to sell/trade so it was not considered appropriate to put up signs. We even sent out meeting notices on two pages: One would say we would meet at Doug's house at 2 on Sunday while the other was a map with directions but never included the name of the host or anything that suggested what kind of meeting it was. That doubled copy expenses but made trash thrown out less likely to attract the wrong kind of attention.
