I honestly don't see what you guys are talking about here?! A Red designation means 5% or less than the surface of the coin may not be red. Fill me in if you would please. Are you suggesting that over 5% of this coin is not red?
We are not trying to beat up your coin, but most TPGs would normally call this a RB coin. They are just really particular with the red designation and seldom give it to a coin that doesn't look like the day it left the mint.
I hear what you're saying but even PCGS goes by these standards I mentioned according to the grading videos they have.
I've got some old '20s Wheats in the old ANACS holders that were graded 66 Red, but time sure has taken their toll... Hard to get a Red designation on a copper in the teens.
And if I understand (and remember) correctly, PCGS and NGC are no longer guaranteeing their Red attribute on copper coins anymore. Their holders are NOT sufficiently air tight to prevent Red changing to RB over time.
Unfortunately that doesn't do me any good since I have NGC Registry Sets. Only PCGS and NGC coins are accepted into those sets. So that's my only options.
Most of you thought it was a MS-64 based on the poll. This is not my coin but did bid for it on Ebay. Sold for $607.25, nobody bid it up besides me. It's a rough economy out there!
I do I just knew how tough it is to get this coin in a PCGS 65 Red holder. It's a giant jump is price. I feel it's a solid 64 but it's turning to RB. I really like the coin.
