Could this be a possible DDO?

Tommy, to my eyes it appears to be the master die doubling that was present on 60% of the coins struck that year.

Good eye. You'd be surprised how many people that are actually looking for doubled dies miss this even though it's on 50-60% of 1972 Cents from all mints. Keep it as an example, but it's not worth a premium since potentially coins that don't show the master doubling are more scarce.

If you go all the way to the last coin pictured on this link there are some pictures of the master die doubling.

It is a doubled die, just extremely common.

The die gouges are not apparent on your coin...013 shows an extra tail on the 2 of the date, it has little to do with the master die doubling shown in the pics.

That might be the only difference because all the die marks
are on the coin except for the date.

Could you post the date of your coin so we could determine if it is die 13? You may have a different die state.

The date appears normal to me.

    Looks normal to me, too. I don't think it's 013...sorry. :(

Yeah I know But it has all the similarities except for the date.

If you will notice in Wexler's description he says, "The variety shows the master die doubling known for this date on LIBERTY and IGWT." The extra bar on the 2 is what makes it 013. There are a few listed on Wexler's site that also show the master die doubling.
