1988 Lincoln Cent Coppercoins DDO-012

All I'm seeing on this one is MD. 012 actually has some decent spread on GOD and the E of WE.

 

its actually a later die state then what coppercoins is, theirs is middle state, maybe coneca list later states not sure, didn't check

 

not the DD00-012. this is machine doubling. the coin on coppercoins shows a significant thickening of the details where this does not.

 

even if this coin was a doubled die would it be worth anything ? I don't bother with the minor variety coins.

 

thats the problem with not having photos of all the die states, coneca only shows A, B, die states, they do have a C, but nothing showing yet, thats why I used coppercoins photos, the only ones out there, coneca sells their photos on a disc

 

we talked about needed more die states at the last local coin show, thats one thing the market is lacking

when you compare these they aren't even close

 

its called the working die, the more it strikes the wider it gets, thats all

This has nothing to do with die state, it's not 012.

 

I see nothing wrong with that as long as you enjoy it. I have one 88 cent that I kept that has nice doubling on only the bottom of the last 8 in the date

 

Even with respect to progression of die state, 012 would still look pretty close to all the other stages. Since I don't see any resemblance to 012, I would say you do not have die 12 and I don't see any other evidence of it being a doubled die.
