I'm not too sure. It looks inverted in a way, but it doesn't look like this recorded example. Here's some photos of a recorded one and my dime. To be honest, the one above, listed on Variety Vista looks like a regular mintmark to me.
Don't laugh, I know you guys probably don't get excited over lower grade, common date Mercs, but, we don't get many of them north of the border. I am waiting for my share of a swap to arrive. In it, I expect 7 Mercs with dates between 1927 - 1944 and some other US circulation commemoratives. I have a scan of them and here is the one that has me excited the most, just based on appearance alone...
I bid on this Merc. Lost, but It sold for around $60. NGC certified MS65 I think. Very evil looking eye!
So I got this one a little while back from a fellow CT'er, thought I would show it off a bit. 1945-S Micro S MS66 PCGS Enjoy and I hope everybody is having a FUN New Year! Best Regards, George
Here is my 1945 Philadelphia Mint issue, so close to full bands it is sickening. Probably the closest to a full bands '45-P I'll ever own. Below it is the old Capital Plastics #453 holder it is stored in. It's the long version of a short set, 1934-45. It has been quite awhile since I added anything to it.
Thank you. No, the images are the seller's which I am using with permission. The good news is, my coins are better than my photos! Best Regards, George
used to own a very pretty toned ms67 FB mercury, now after looking at this thread, you guys are making me feel bad for selling it!!!
