The word that tips me off in his description is 'unsearched'. Just seeing that I would stay away from them no matter how legitimate the pictures are or his reputation is.

That form of packaging looks very contemporary and modern to me. I think he's got GAS.......

Those look like the seller boxed them up.

I think this listing is in violation of the raw coin policy as there are no photos of the obverse or reverse of the actual coins, only 5 white boxes.

    Listing reported.

It's a gamble and a $2000 gamble at that. Whether it's legit or not, I'd stay away. Sort of surprised 3 buyers have taken the plunge. It could be shill buyers to fabricate the illusion of demand though.

It could be a few boxes of 'nuts and bolts'. I'd shy away big time.

Its been a while, but the perforated edges also appear to be different from what I remember.

I'll ditto that. if it's questionable and on ebay what more do you need to know? that's a lot of money for an '83 or84cc morgan. do you really think your going to get anything different?

Boxes look brand new cardboard is acidic and white cardboard would show yellowing after all this time unless it was deacidified or kept in a carefully controlled environment looks like he's taking common GSA Morgan's and reboxing them otherwise where would you find this many

I hardly think there is a violation of any kind. How is it you expect him to have photos of coins in unopened boxes?

Need you ask, the CoinVault. :D j/k The seller may be an employee of the boxing manufacturer who made boxes for the GSA back in 1970, IDK. Those boxes certainly don't look the same though. Looks like the side perforation on the edges are a little bit different. Besides that, boxes that old would show age and his are obviously brand new. Close, but no cigar. :D

Never could understand how or why anybody would be or could be foolish enough to buy a pig in a poke

Guy on a corner standing next to a beat up car with the trunk unlatched - Hey Mister ! Look at these ! I got brand new Rolex watches in these sealed boxes for only $500 ! You wanna buy one ?

    What ?

No, of course you can't open the boxes ! That's part of the deal. There might be a gold Rolex inside, or even a diamond one. Or just a plain ordinary Rolex. But they're all only $500 !!

Uhh, uhhh, DUH ! Yeah - gimme two of 'em

The violation is of eBay's policy for raw coin listings:

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/currstamps.html

A raw coin hasn't been graded by a coin grading company, or has been graded, but not by an approved grading company.
Listings for raw coins must follow these guidelines:
    • The numeric grade (such as MS-65, VF-25) isn't included in the title, description, or item specifics of the listing.

    • No estimate of value (even if personal opinion) or reference to a price guide is included in the title or description.

    • The listing includes photos of the front and back of the coin being sold. Stock photos and images that are dark, out of focus, edited, or misleading aren't allowed.

    • The starting, reserve, or Buy It Now price for the coin is less than $2,500.

By that logic no rolls could ever be sold either.
