Nope. Don't know if that is the case with all of these city/states-- I'd have to read deeper into the political history-- but that's not the theme I used.

    Well THAT didn't take long!

I figured you might be the one to get it, Steve! If chrsmat was allowed to guess he would've got it in an instant, being a fellow Pink Floyd fan... but I told him about this months ago so he had to shut up :D

Here's a composite with everything in its place.

I also made a somewhat interactive presentation which you can see here:

    http://prezi.com/q7mw1k1zur65/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy&rc=ex0share

It may take a couple of minutes for it to load. I recommend clicking the full screen view (bottom right hand corner). Click the Play arrow. Have the sound on.

Let it roll on its own, it only take a minute and a half. At any time during and after the slideshow you can click or use arrows to go back, zoom in, etc.

This is my first time using Prezi so let me know if you have any problems viewing it. I wanted to have different songs to for each set of coins but there were some technical limitations...

Steve, I'll pm you about a prize :)

TIF => that was awesome!! ... great job on the presentation!!

=> oh, and that song took me back to my High School daze (I felt like cranking-up the tunes and hot-boxing my coin-room)

NOTE => I responded to your PM (we'll try to figure-out a plan regarding the prize)

I didn't have a clue so kept my mouth shut. In fact, I still don't have a clue. I've never listened to Pink Floyd

Follow up: Show coins of two other animals mentioned on that album that did not merit a title listing.

    Excellent pickup, Doug!

They won't work in to the presentation as elegantly but I certainly should add representative coins to the collection.

Randy, Bing... really? Not even Dark Side of the Moon?
(aka best album ever recorded*, it's been on Billboard's lists almost continuously since ~spring of 1973)

    *I may be biased :)

Sorry, but I don't think I've ever heard any of their music. I'm not an audiophile, but when I do listen to music, it's mostly classic country from the 50's, 60's and 70's. I also like Blues.

I was going to say maybe 2 songs, but actually I was thinking of 2 different parts of the same song XD. I know about Dark Side of the Moon and The wall and can probably recognize some songs. Never new about Animals though. lol

Also not a fan here but I must say I can't think of another album that lends itself to the ancient coin treatment anything like as well as Animals. Those who bought John Anthony's Greek Coins when I recommended it (or on your own!) may recall his section on themed collections. It might be a fun idea but I'm never able to convince myself to buy a coin I don't like because I 'need' a 'dog' or passing up coins I like because I have too many 'pigs'.

Also: I loved your graphic presentation with the turntable but warn that there is now a sizable percentage of the population that would not recognize it as a music related device and the no-moving-parts MP3 files of today will not lend themselves to translations for the next generation of numismomusicalists.

ahahaha, Bing => Pink Floyd isn't a flash-in-the-pan-boy-band ... they were definitely a huge "Mega-Band" in the 70's (when they still spun vinyl!!)

=> Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon was recorded in 1973 and TIF's tribute thread "Animals" was recorded in 1977 (The Wall was a 1982 album)

    ... c'mon man!!

    :)

Believe it or not Doug vinyl records have made a decent comeback. Younger generations are appreciating the rich sound vynals have PLUS they like having the big photos and such too.

Vinyls are very expensive now though, its crazy. Alot of musicians also release them as "collectors editions".

They music I like from 77-82 (be it a little before my time :D ) is the Misfits.
