Howdy, been a while since I've posted and dealt with coins in general, but I got the itch recently and picked up one that's been on the "wanted" list a long time. Graded MS63 bn. I especially like the circular die crack :)

Your nice coin is almost certainly one of the Randall Hoard cents. My RH example is a 62BN but looks almost exactly the same.

This one came from the Dan Holmes collection. He was a one time president of the Early American Coppers Club. He built an outstanding set of the Sheldon and Newcomb die varieties.

Sometimes you need to know something about die states to grade a coin properly. I thought that this piece, which is graded MS-66, Brown had an obverse planchet defect. Later I found out that it is a lamination or chip in the die.

And this is just a very nice late date large cent. I have been working on a date set, but I've had to drop back from coins like this. They are too expensive and hard to find.

My only large cent that I picked up for eight dollars. I don't have any pictures of it post-cleaning (yet) but I should get some. I couldn't get everything so I'm considering sending it to ICG to get conserved.

All of mine are circulated but I've always liked this 1812 the most. Screenshot_20230130_143537_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20230130_143541_Photos.jpg

What can I say. It isn't MS or even close. And it has survived a fire which left it's marks. But it is one of my nicest.

This is another with some problems, but one of my nicer ones. Both are the same coin under different lighting.

Not as nice as the other stuff in this thread, but it's a 1797 Stemless and a 1796 Draped Bust. Cut them some slack.
