No specific criteria, just tell us which one you like best and why. Feel free to post pics of your favorites. For me it is a real tough choice between the Walking Liberty and the Standing Liberty. I think both are absolutely amazing designs. However, I think I lean more towards the Walker. The obverse is gorgeous and I like the eagle on the reverse of the Walker better than the eagle on the revers of the Standing Liberty.
Walking Liberty... always seems the "strongest" of the selections, for lack of a better description. -L
I consider the Type I Standing Liberty Quarter as one of our most beautiful coins , I also think they wrecked it by changing the design , the Mercury dime would be a strong second . Image View: Normal | Medium | Large
1) Morgan; something about a silver $1 coin and the ties to the "wild west" 2) Walking Liberty Half: what more can be said about A. Weinman and his design. 3) Buffalo Nickel 4) Indian Head Cent 5) Standing Liberty: although with the pic above and the toned coin post in another thread, I'm warming up to this coin. Agree that the Mercury Dime needed to be added to the poll. 1881-CC MS65 DPL
Awesome coins rzage, idhair and jpcienkus. Thank you for sharing. Rzage, I can't stop looking at that Standing Liberty.
The SLQ is a beautiful coin. Even in circulated condition it looks nice. Second would be WLH's (the main thing I collect) and then I would go with Peace Dollars. For me Morgans are just a store of silver.
I voted SLQ. Although, if you ask me tomorrow I might say the Buffalo. I like the SLQ because both sides of the coin have symmetrical looks to them and the reverse eagle I think is awesome, reminds me of the saying less is more. Here's one of my only two examples
Beautiful example of a Type II SLQ . When you consider that most of these were wore down to G-8 or below , a slightly circulated example that looks to have had a great strike is impressive .
