I am going to try to go through a $25 box on cents every Thursday starting tomorrow! I would like for others to join me in this quest to see what we can find! Make sure to post your results and let's see just how many wheaties (and any other awesome coins) we can all find within in one day of searching!!

I'm just trying to put a bit of a spin on it. Isn't the one you are referring to more of just a "post as you find" type of thing? not very regimented? I could be wrong, afterall I am still new to this site! :)

Okay, yeah I'm just trying something new. Might catch fire or it might be a terrible idea. Here's to trying!!

no harm in trying, we'll see what happens, takes me about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to go thru a box of pennies, then up to another week or 2 before i can get to bank to get another box, so on average i do 1 box a month then post my results...

Well I found 8 Wheaties (1940 was the oldest) and 4 Canadian cents. Not the best find but not terrible...

I've been getting skunked on wheats lately, but today I found a 1946-P.

I kinda like this thread! I am in the middle of a $25 box of cents- 4 Wheaties so far(all 50's) and 3 Canadian cents.

Just finished another $25 box. I found 9 Wheaties and 6 Canadian cents!!! My best haul yet! The Wheaties were '40, '41, '45, 46D, '50D, '51D, '52D, '53D and '58D. These fill some of the holes in my collection :) I wish I was lucky enough to find some years in the teen, 20s or 30s....

Once a customer paid in pennies. There were something like 220 pennies and I pulled 8 wheats out of it.

I go through 8 boxes a week and usually post in the roll searchers thread but I could be persuaded to post here :)

The reverse of the wheat penny is my favorite reverse ever. Probably because it was the first coin that I ever started collecting and because it has always seemed obsolete in a good way to me.

I love the obverse of the wheat cent!
And I'm cool with this being the designated wheat searchers thread!

I too love the wheat reverse but in a weird sort of way I am starting to like the new 2010-and newer shield reverse. I think it kind of reminds me of the 2c and shield nickels.

That is very true. It is a neat design. Just seeing the obverse of the wheat is always exciting to me. It's just a classic in my opinion!

    bdunnse Who dat?

Please observe that the reverse is where the wheat is. Reverse, reverse, reverse.
