So that is what this is all about - raising your readership?? You had a bet with someone? I feel so used
no bet, but I did send some photos out today, hopefully theres a coin show this weekend, then I can put a suit on the coin for its home-coming, lol
As nearly everyone has correctly concluded, this coin is covered with glue or epoxy. Some coins left their impressions in the glue before it set.
thanks everybody for showing up, specials thanks to, Bob Piazza, Mike Diamond, Jim M. and yes, Awordcreated
11/13/13 To: RICHARD STACHOWSKI I have seen similar things Richard. It is my guess that it is solder and it was definitely done after the coin left the mint. There is nothing in the minting process that could make that happen. Someone had nothing but time on their hands it seems Bob Piazza Coppercoins.com
Richard this is the same thing a few other members and me told you on this thread and you still thought it was a mint error. are you having crow for supper tonight LOL ?
I know, but look at all the big folks that showed up, hopefully we can keep them around, thats a good thing, helps out everyone, thats for sure, thats why I always thank everybody, and give special thanks to the big guns
I don't think anyone should be "eating crow", but it certainly is a good learning experience and I am sure Rick took something away from it.
