Doesn't look like a clash...looks like something stuck to the coin...

I agree with Simon. I would soak it in an acetone bath and then re-evaluate it.

I really don't like to clean, or soak coins, but maybe your right, will it hurt it, I'm not sure, never cleaned a coin before

    Rick-

If you use pure acetone, it will not hurt the coin at all to give it a soak(just don't scrub it). Acetone will not alter the appearance of the coin in any way. It will just remove a lot of surface junk.

Acetone works wonders for copper cents! I love it!

Tell Mr Potter that his old friend down in the hills of Kentucky told you it was boogers .
EDIT: actually the coin looks like it may have solder on it.

already soak it, and everything is still there, its full of die clashes, I new it was, thats why I'm going to show it to potter, hopefully he'll photo it, and put it in the new cherry picker guide coming out, if you look in the latest one, my name is in it, at least four times, so far, he's photoed four of my coins, for the new cherry pickers guide, I'll post new photos of the clashes tomorrow, thanks everybody for showing up, and a special thanks to jallengomez, for telling me about the acid tone, never cleaned a coin before

An extra dome on top of a dome wouldn't really indicate a die clash, a die clash shows a reversed and flipped image from the opposite side, not one from the same. I see no evidence whatsoever of a clash of Jefferson on the reverse side.

Let us know what Potter says...but I'll call it not a clash. :)

why would you try to wash something that would never come off, like non cents said, some of this coin has extra metal (motto) at least non cents new that, but I'm surprised he didn't know it was a counter clash, but thats ok, I did, and thats all that matters
