Can you tell if the word LIBERTY is raised or incuse? Something doesn't look quite right...

I am having issues with this myself. It was only struck one time and the reverse is normal and it weighs 2.5 and all the proportions on secondary image are correct

Very interesting, can't wait to see if anyone knows anything about what went on there

you sure it is raised? really looks incuse to me. if it is incuse, i'd say this was a press job, or whatever they call it.

otherwise, this is a pretty unique error.

Pretty neat. The rims look unblemished.

It's a squeeze job. Look at the R in liberty. You can see it clearly that it is incuse.

so--to understand this---squeeze job-I would have to 'squeeze a coin to get the 'backwards' letters, then turn right around and squeeze this example with out hitting the rim? Man that's a lot of work for just a cent!!

Never know might be worth millions--or just a cent--
