My coin is listed on a website as the 2005 P MN BS Double Die Reverse #18, can you tell me what that means in terms of selling it or if I should just hold on to it? I don't know what all the initials mean but I am trying to learn as much as possible. Thanks
P - Philly MN - Minnesota BS - Business strike DDO #X is (obviously) the variety. Not sure what site you got this from, but are you sure about the variety? I cannot see enough to say either way. The link below, if you've not already used it, may be of some help to you. http://doubleddie.com/179422.html
It was on a site called Ken Potter's Error & Variety, he listed exactly what's on this coin down to how the tree is shaped, how the initials looked and everything. I didn't know the same things could be wrong like that. I always thought errors were random.
AH HA!! Now I am understanding what everyone is talking about when I ask about double die, I didn't read about that like I should have when the first gentleman on here told me to read that. So that is why I was thinking something is doubled and got confused when people told me it wasn't. Goodness there is a ton to learn. I really started to think my eyesight was messed up. Well at least on this coin I am correct unless that other guy is wrong about his coin also. I probably should try to ask him about his coin to learn more.
There is a lot that may interest you on the site I suggested. If I remember correctly, you can navigate by going to the upper left corner on each page. There is always lots to learn; just take your time and have fun with it.
