Sorry Iowa, was in the mountains all weekend. Let Tiger have it! I have too many $100 keepers as it is. Gets very expensive in FV.

Picked up two straps of the new$100 bills.
All bills in one strap are consecutive. Originally planned
to keep all twenty but finally decided to keep
five. Now wishing I would've kept all twenty.

I mainly collect obsolete ABNCo currency which scans easily. Unsuccessfully tried to scan the new $100 bills. Remembered new currency has anti scanning features.
Finally just took a picture using my iPhone.

The 1928 $20 Gold Cert. looks quite a bit better than many graded in the Very Fine 25 that I have seen. The 1928 $50 Gold Cert. with minor discoloration is a nice 30 graded note, the discoloration is standard for a Very Fine graded note. :)

PCGS graded notes tend to be a little nicer for a specific grade due to there strict grading standards.

I just bought my first item of paper money. I caved in and responded to a Littleton Coin ad in the newspaper - $2 bill, crisp uncirculated for $2, plus you get a Ft. McHenry Quarter as well. Price $2 shipped. I have to say, $2.25 in legal tender for $2 is a no brainer no matter what. I'll have to see how nice the bill is when it comes.

That 1928 $20 is definitely a VF25. A very nicely cleaned and pressed 25, but still a 25 if you look closely.

    Very nice adds nonetheless.

I used to buy/sell Silver Eagles, they have become very Generic ! :) Currency collecting old bank notes is fun and a lot of the older notes are very artistic. Funkee I like the 1928 Gold's and have a very nice collection of these notes, but I am still searching for that 1928 $1 Gold Cert. lol VERY RARE>

Send me that $1 LT and I'll give you a $1 GC back... by eBay standards of course. Ultra super duper rare. ;)

Thanks Mat. A dealer told me there is another bill in the series that's a ship
but I wasn't able to find it. I'm going back tomorrow and look some more.

I think the dealer was slightly off... There is an awesome ship on a Costa Rica remainder but it is the 20 Peso note. To continue the series of notes you posted, you need the mining scene 20 Colones... Both beautiful! The train is probably my favorite!

The ship is the only one I have left to get, I just got the miners... if I ever scan this 4 inch stack of new pickups, I'll post it. Scanning is beating me down...

AND because you should be banned for a week for posting in this thread without a new pickup picture, I give you... a prewar 1937 Scottish One Pound note. Always glad to add a new colorful Scotland note to my collection.

I think you're right about the pesos ship note. I may already have the mining note I'll have to check my note storage.

Here's one just for fun. Bare breasted woman surfing on a shark. Note fertility God (at least that's what I think it) on the reverse.

I picked up several well done items printed by Mike Bean (retired) from the Mint but don't know where to post them since they are not currency.
