As a few of you might know I have never found more than 1 40% half in a box of halves. Today I went to CHASE for my mom to deposit a check and said she was going through the drive thru but I told her to go inside because I haven't coin roll hunted nickels in a while. While inside I changed my train of thought from nickels to halves and picked up 250 dollars in CWRS. The lady was really reluctant to give them up but she ended up doing it when I told her I was a coin collector, she smiled and she gave them to me and I ended up finding 16 40% and 2 90% . I was so excited because as I've said before, I had never found more than 1 40% in a box of halves. I know this is nothing to brag about but it's nothing something that happens everyday and Id thought i shared, and hopefully one of you will be inspiried to go out and get some halves (Got an assortment of 40% halves from 1966-69 and got a 1949 frank and a 1964 Kennedy)
Awesome find. I notice nice luster on the pile... did you look for nicer condition clad ones, as well?
I found (4) 40% the other day in a large couple bags. Ready to do it again this week hopefully with some better results, no matter what it's still REALLY fun...hahha my wife looks at me like I"m crazy.
Yeah, people at the bank look at me weird when I walk out of the bank holding a box or bag full of halves. And I wish you all the best of luck!
I simply have told my bank that I am a coin collector and I have found a guy that has actually been super supportive. Although I think they are already looking at halves first now that they come in. The first day I walked in and asked if they had any, it was a 90% !
Yeah, I told her that I was looking for "dates" to fill in my book and she got excited somehow. Some people amaze me.
